Remix Is Honored to Be a World Economic Forum Pioneer and BloombergNEF Pioneer

Remix

Remix is excited to announce that we've been named a "pioneer" by two esteemed organizations: it's such an honor to be recognized as both a 2020 World Economic Forum (WEF) Tech Pioneer and a 2020 BloombergNEF (BNEF) Pioneer for our leading transportation planning software used by over 325 cities in 20 countries across the globe.

The WEF Technology Pioneer Award

For nearly 50 years, the WEF, a non-profit organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, has engaged international leaders from the private sector, government, academia, and elsewhere to drive positive change. Twenty years ago, the WEF began an annual tradition of honoring innovative organizations they consider to be Technology Pioneers. When selecting candidates, the WEF specifically seeks out tech companies in early and growth stages that have the potential to significantly impact business and society. As a 2020 WEF Technology Pioneer, we are humbled to join the ranks of elite past recipients such as Google, Kickstarter, Mozilla, Spotify, and Twitter.

Our CEO and co-founder Tiffany Chu will participate in WEF events and discussions throughout the next year as a result of the company's Technology Pioneer status. In response to learning about the award, Tiffany Chu responded, "We are thrilled to be acknowledged as a pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Your commute time and zip code you’re born into are the strongest predictors of economic mobility. We are passionate about building a platform to empower cities to plan the best transportation system – from public transit to safer streets to ever-increasing new modes of mobility – for better economic opportunity, for better communities, and for a better planet." Also for the next two years, Remix will engage with the Global Innovators community, a collection of invitation-only start-ups at the forefront of technological innovation. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing challenges countries around the world, the WEF has specified that now is an especially critical moment for inventive tech companies to identify novel ideas to protect communities globally.

The BloombergNEF Pioneer Award

Ten early-stage companies have been named as the 2020 BNEF Pioneers, including Remix. The BNEF Pioneers are a group of companies across industries that BloombergNEF has identified as being innovative in their fields. BloombergNEF is particularly interested in awarding the BNEF Pioneer designation to "game-changing" organizations working in energy, transportation, and sustainability spaces. Now in its eleventh year, the BNEF Pioneers competition has expanded its traditional focus from companies developing cutting-edge renewable energy products and services, to companies that are leading the transition to a low-carbon economy through a broader set of approaches. We're honored that BloombergNEF identified Remix's platform as technology that promotes global mobility and sustainability. As a BNEF pioneer, Remix will have the opportunity to learn, network, and build connections with other leaders in the transportation space through global events. At Remix, we’re thrilled to be chosen as we continue to dedicate our work to creating more livable cities.
